 Interviews

October 1st, 2002: We here at 4ever4 Online got a chance to sit down with Katherine, Mike, and Bill for an interview! (Maria was busy working on the Ladywood One-Acts at the time). There are two sections to this interview. First we asked the questions that you, the fans, sent in. And then we asked some questions of our own.

Tom of Cleveland, Ohio asks: Katherine, where were you when the others went to Cedar Point?
Katherine: I was busy attending marching band camp for my high school's Marching Spartans.

Alexis of Toronto asks: Is there tension in the group, or just conflicting schedules?
Mike: No I don't think any tensions exists. It's hard to get along sometimes, but we always work it out. We try to plan events as a group, but 'cause of conflicting schedules, someone might not be there.

Bill: Yeah, there's no tension. I mean, yeah, we have our bad days, but we get along so well.

Katherine: Conflicting schedules are the only problem. We are all so close, it's scary. We're trying to finally plan some time together though!

Michelle of Las Angeles, California asks: Are you all single?
Mike: I think so. I am.

Katherine: So am I, and as far as I'm concerned, it's not a bad thing. But I am indeed looking for love.

Bill: I am too. I'm content with it. If I find someone though, I'll definitely jump on it. But I'm not really looking right now.

Andrew of Little Rock, Arkansas asks: Is there any dating within the group?
Mike: Luckily no!

Katherine: We definitely could not like each other that way.

Bill: Yeah, I definitely think it's a good thing there's no dating. It would make things weird, especially when the couple broke up. Besides the fact, Maria and Katherine are like my sisters. I could never go out with them. It'd just be... wrong. (laughs)

Cletus of Paw Paw, Michigan asks: Who are your idols and why?
Katherine: I have many idols. Mariah Carey's voice is great, but Gwen Stefani just rocks. I totally look up to anyone who has made it by being themselves, and I hope to follow their lead.

Bill: My idols... well number one is ABBA. They are a major inspiration to my song writing. So is Bif Naked. ABBA and Bif Naked are my biggest ones.

Mike: Umm... I look up to people, but I don't really have any idols.

Crystal of Talahassee, Florida asks: What other celebrities do you have crushes on?
Bill: Alyson Hannigan, Amber Benson, Nikki McKibbin, Bif Naked, Gwen Stefani, Reese Witherspoon... those are my biggest ones.

Katherine: Oh my list is long! Matthew Lillard, Edward Norton, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc... the list goes on.... oh yeah, and Mike Hetu! (laughs)

Mike: Yeah, I have the biggest crush on Katherine Scally! (laughs)

Hannah of Stockholm, Sweden asks: Would you ever date a fan?
Mike: No. It would be hard to determine if there were actually any feeling there, or if she just wanted me because I was well known.

Bill: It's hard to say. If I got feelings for a fan, I wouldn't ignore them just 'cause it's a fan. But, like Mike said, I'd have to make sure she liked me for me.

Katherine: I might... it all depends. I want a healthy relationship, and it might be hard to do so with a fan. But hey, you never know.

Rain from New York City asks: Have you ever dyed your hair, changed your eye color, or anything like that?
Katherine: Nope, I really don't want to. I enjoy my hair color, although sometimes I would love to put some blue or green in.

Bill: I've never changed anything, but I would love to have black hair. And color contacts would be fun to play with.

Mike: I want to get color contacts, and I'm willing to have highlights in my hair.

Thad of Beverly Hills, California asks: What, in your opinion, is the best song ever written?
Katherine: Wow... that is such a hard question. I can't answer it.

Bill: Yeah, that's hard... well I'd say any ABBA song... but besides ABBA songs, I'd say "Unchained Melody" by the Righteous Brothers.

Mike: Definitely "Anywhere But Here" which is performed by Eden's Crush! Just kidding!! I really don't know, actually. There are definitely more than one.

Jordan from London, England asks: So what kind of music do you like?
Mike: I like pop music, especially from Europe, along with techno.

Bill: Right now I'm into punky but sort of poppy rock. Like Bif Naked, Jimmy Eat World, Garbage, Avril Lavigne, and No Doubt. I also listen to European pop groups like S Club and Hear'Say, and Canadian rock bands, like Psychokey, Kittie, and Tegan and Sara.

Katherine: I love rock, punk rock, love songs, ballads... things that make me happy. I don't have one specific genre I listen to.

Leelee of Denver, Colorado asks: Do you have any pets?
Katherine: I have a psychotic, skitzophrenic golden retriever named Caesar.

Bill: I did have a pet but she died recently. She was a frog. Her name was Shanaenae LaToya Jackson.

Mike: And I do not have any.

Juss of Livonia, Michigan asks: Are you planning to make any donations (charity, environment, etc.) with the money you make in the group?
Bill: Definitely! There are people so worse off than us, and it would be selfish not to help them. I'd like to do a special single where ALL the money gained from it goes to charity.

Katherine: I would definitely donate to a children's fund... or an animal shelter... or heck, both!

Mike: Yeah, I'd love to help those in need by doing what I love.

-------------------------------------------------------------
Now it's time for some questions of our own...
-------------------------------------------------------------

Would you ever consider a tour overseas?
Mike: Definitely. I want to share our music as much as possible.

Bill: There are a lot of bands overseas I would like to tour with. If we could get enough support overseas to do a tour, that would be great.

Katherine: And besides, why limit our horizons to just the U.S.?

Are you interested in acting as well?
Katherine: I am. I'm currently doing small productions in a class. I love acting, and if something ever happens or goes wrong with my musical career... which I hope doesn't!... I know I will have my acting to keep me going.

Bill: I'm planning to be involved in a lot of theater performances. I love acting. I'd like to add an acting career to my list of accomplishments.

Mike: I've always wanted to be a famous actor on TV and in movies.

If you could, what TV show would you guest star on?
Katherine: Ooh! Tie between two shows! Friends or General Hospital. Probably General Hospital though, because the cast of friends is quite older than me, and the plot wouldn't be able to be as fun.

Mike: I don't know... I mainly watch reality shows like The Mole, Survivor, and American Idol. Maybe I could be the job person on the Real World. That would be fun.

Bill: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, most definitely. That would be so much fun.

Do you want to branch out by possibly someday doing punk or rock songs as well as pop songs?
Mike: I like our music the way it is. Besides we have other types of music such as rock and techno mixed into our music.

Bill: Personally, I would really like to do a rock album. But we're not a rock group. I'd probably just do it for myself. Just something fun.

Katherine: Well... I would, but I don't think my voice is fit for that type of thing. Like, hard core is out of the question. Ska is definitely something I would do though.

Would you ever go solo?
Katherine: It's always a possibilty. But I love Bill, Mike, and Maria and I think it would be really hard to leave them. I think that if anyone was to go solo, it would be because the group had a wicked fight.

Bill: I'd only do it as a fun, small project. Maybe a punk rock album. But I don't want to have a solo career.

Mike: I'd never go solo. I love it with the group and I'd be scared to be by myself.

Would you stay with the group if you went solo?
Katherine: Well I sorta just answered that question... But yes, if I was to go solo and the group was still good, I'd stay with the group. Of course! We're like a little family.

Mike: I don't know... just because it would be so hard to juggle both careers.

Bill: I would never leave the group. The group is way more important.

Are you interested in a 4ever4 movie or TV special?
Bill: We've been talking about this for SO long! I definitely want to do it. I really hope we can make it happen.

Mike: I think a TV special would be a lot of fun. I'm not sure about a movie though. I think I'll wait and see what the S Club movie is like.

Katherine: I think it'd be so much fun! It could be like... a Real World type thing. Me and Mike want to be on Real World. A reality show would be cool. Nothing scripted.

Do you think your music can be enjoyed by all people of all ages, or is it aimed toward one specific group?
Bill: Our main audience is teens, but I think all people can like it. We all have different styles of writing, so there should be a song on the album for everybody.

Mike: I think everyone can enjoy our music. No age limit. However, I know there are some subjects younger people won't understand, and that's for the better.

Katherine: I think it's mainly directed to be heard by the teen crowd, young or older teens. But hey, if older people like us... yay for them, they have good taste! (laughs)
